Summer Trip 2016 Recap

12:50 PM

With two little ones we are keeping travel to a minimum. I'm sure you can relate that with most car trips, there is a pacifier referee, snack manager & toy exchange service. These features are great for the first class back-seat passengers, not so fun for the pilot & co-pilot.

But we made sure to get one trip in this summer and spent an extended weekend at a beach house on the coast with our best friends. The weather was perfect; sunny & warm. We ventured into the sand as much as we could handle. The boys got a round of golf in and Kelly & I spent some time along the bay front cruising through the shops sans kids.

A trip to the aquarium was a must. Aria was a touch overwhelmed. and couldn't decide if she liked the animals & exhibits or not and Emerson slept through most of it.

We wrapped up the weekend with a bonfire on the beach complete with over-tired kids, sand in our wine glasses and the best marriage proposal ever. Congrats to Kelly & Mike!! A little champagne to celebrate when we returned to the house and got the kids into bed concluded the festivities.

We took a day or so to recover and remove sand from everything we own. It was so much fun, we can't wait for our next trip.

A fun little side note..

If you want to really mess with your husband, buy a really cheap sparkly ring and come back and tell your husband about your splurge in the most "please forgive me babe" tone... minus the price tag. Explain that it was simply an upgrade.. tell him a $22 ring was "22ish..." and have a camera ready for reaction. Coastal tourist shops are the best.

Any beach adventures for you this summer? Where do you go? Scroll to the bottom, I'd love to hear :)
